A permanent fixture in the Nationwide Series, Jason Leffler can be easily picked out in the garage as the guy with the ‘faux-hawk’. The Long Beach, Calif. native is known for his laid-back attitude off the track and go-get-it style on the track. In a Nationwide Series career that spans 10 years, the 35-year-old has racked up some impressive statistics that include two wins, 40 top-five and 94 top-10 finishes and eight pole awards. In 2011, he returns to Turner Motorsports to pilot the No. 38 Great Clips Chevrolet for the sixth season, the second consecutive season he will share the ride with Kasey Kahne. He will jump behind the wheel of the No. 30 Impala when Kahne is driving the No. 38.

Like a lot of west coast kids, ‘Lefturn’ Leffler started racing open-wheel cars on local dirt tracks as a teenager. After winning three consecutive USAC Midget Championships (1997-1999) and a Silver Crown National Championship (1998) he decided to make the transition to stock cars. He made his NASCAR debut in 1999, spending time in all three of the top series over the next few years. He captured his first NASCAR Camping World Tuck Series win at Dover International Raceway in 2003 and got his first NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) win the next year at Nashville Superspeedway.

Leffler made his first NNS start with Braun Racing in 2005 and returned to the team in 2006 to pilot the No. 38 Great Clips entry he still drives today for Turner Motorsports. In his time with the organization, Leffler has amassed one win (O’Reilly Raceway Park, July, 2007), 29 top-five and 85 top-10 finishes and four pole awards. 2010 marked the fourth consecutive season the veteran driver has finished inside the top-10 in the championship driver’s points standings (9th).

When’s he’s not behind the wheel of a stock car you can usually find Leffler behind the wheel of a dirt car. The avid racer competes in as many Midget and Sprint Car events as possible with his already hectic schedule. If he isn’t behind the wheel you can usually find him hanging out with his best friend, Charlie, his three-year-old son.
